Summer-cross

It’s Wednesday morning at PTG’s headquarters in Harrisonburg, VA and the weather outside is finally fall-like. The cool weather seems appropriate considering the kickoff to cyclocross season was this past weekend up in Allentown, PA for Nittany Lion Cross, the opening two rounds of the MAC series (Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross). However, temperatures this past weekend were pushing the mercury towards a very balmy 90 degrees! Everyone was kicking around the term “summer-cross” and it certainly fit the climate at the race. There were a lot of water bottle cages out there…

Generally, the first weekend of September is still early for most pure cyclocrossers to even consider dusting off the old bike, but team PTG was out there battling hard both days in the Men’s and Women’s Elite races. We also did our part to battle the heat by passing out ice cold Busch beers (our beverage of choice this season) to those trying to ward off the effects of summer-cross.

So, with the first race out of the way, we’ve dusted off the ol’ legs and are ready to roll forward. See ya’ll at Charm City CX. Cheers to ‘cross season in any weather!
